BREAK THE RULES MONDAY #2

Hi peeps!

I have another episode of my series called 'Break the rules Monday' where I take something that was not made for scrapbooking and make a layout with it!

For this months layout I chose a white dining table place mat!

You can watch the video here on my blog, or you can use this link to be redirected to my YouTube channel PotsieFighter.

So for this episode I decided to use this place setting for a dining table in turquoise glitter in a heart shape. I removed the backing which is like felt and slowly and carefully pulled it off the back so it is not so bulky.

I have prepared my page with gesso and decided to use my watercolors and used the blues to create a messy and artsy backround so it peeks out behind the heart. Then I used a few mists and sprayed them on my layout. I used Heidi Swapp Color Shine in Teal and the other mist I made myself using my Daler Rowney acrylic paint.

I decided to use this cute baby blue paper with hearts by Reprint Hobby called Basic Collection Light Blue Hearts and matted it on some white tissue paper before and also after to make it pop even more.
After that I used some foam on the back and adhered that on the heart using a ton of glue because the glitter was rather chunky and I wanted it to stay in place.

I was not sure how I should embellish this layout since it was already very busy because of the giant heart but I knew that I wanted to use this cute blue leather sticker with the moon and stars on it. I used a heart sticker with the same colored glitter as the heart from the MAMBI Pocket Pages Kit Family, a sticker from Kesi'art Stickies N°14, a Tim Holtz tiny word sticker and a few little bits and bobs from my stash. I splattered this cluster with some Heidi Swapp Color Shine in Teal to give it a bit more interest.

I also sprayed my backround with some more of the mists and dried it with my heatgun. Then I used a ton of glue and adhesive to adhere the heart on my backround. I used a black gel pen and traced the outline of the heart with it to make it pop a bit more and I used the same pen to do a bit of journaling and decorated that with a few puffy heart stickers and that finished off my layout!

I hope you enjoyed this layout and my Break the Rules Monday series!

12x12" medical scrapbook process video #5

Hello everyone!

Welcome back to my blog. I have a new 12x12" scrapbook layout for my medical scrapbook for you to share today.

You can watch the video here on my YouTube channel PotsieFighter or you can simply watch it here on my blog.

I will have the links to the haul videos I showed the products in linked in the text and down below I will have a supply list with picture links.

I am not going to lie, this was a challenging layout! So I wanted to try out crepe paper since I love using tissue paper I thought I would give it a go. And I didn't necessarily regret it, but along the way I sometimes did - LOL.
I started off my kind of sorting my crepe paper to see how I want the colors to be and I only ended up using 4 colors because I simply couldn't do more. I mean I could have but i really didn't want to. 😂

So basically I just trimmed the paper in the size I wanted it to be and used double sided tape to stick it on I repeated that with the next 3 layers, ripping everything apart of course - LOL - and then  I used the yellow paper to matt my photo on.

I didn't really find a tag I liked so I grabbed this piece of paper which is actually from the Doodlebug Fun in the Sun Labels & Tags pack, but it is the back of the packaging but I really liked it so I kept the piece and I am glad I did. So I did a bit of journaling, if you can even call it journaling in this case, and stuck it on a big ripp I made before.

I really had no idea how I a. should embellish it, and b. how I should cover up all of the ripps I made.
So I decided to use this circle piece which is actually from the My Mind's Eye Hooray Decorative Tags.
And then I just used those rainbow mosaic tiles to kind of make a line so it seems as if the circle is floating, kind of.

And then I just used those alien-space-glitter-cat-carebear stickers - I really have no idea what those are, but they are very cute - and sticked them wherever I felt like I need to cover it up.

So that is my layout for today, I am not going to lie, it is not my favorite one but I still am glad I made it.

card share

Hello everyone!

I have a cute card share for you today! I started making this card quite some time ago so there will only be a blog post this time, like every Friday. :)

So I started making this card for a friend of mine who loves Vikings just as much as I do. They are just super cute and OMG those beards! LOL!

All I knew was that I wanted to use this cute Viking stamp from Avery Elle. So I stamped it on some white heavyweight cardstock with my Memento Tuxedo Black ink in my We'R'Memory Keepers Precision Stamp Tool and did some coloring with my TouchNew markers and I highlighted the eyes with my white Gelly Roll. I added a little bit of shimmer with my ZIG Wink of Stella clear glitter pen. I then fussy cute the cutie since I don't have the coordinating die.

Then I used a scalloped rectangle die and diecut a blue piece of cardstock and also the 'Dragon Tails' paper from the Doodlebug paper pad that is also called Dragon Tails. I then used one of my Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside Border dies because I wanted to see a lot of the Doodlebug paper but this alone would have been to much.
Then I adhered the pieces together and decided to add a few stars from the Crate Paper Little You stamp set with some Ranger Distress Ink in Broken China.
I also sponged some of the ink on the outside of my card with my Ranger Blending Tool after I adhered the paper on with some foam to pop it up and I love how it looks.

For the inside of my card I decided to use the sentiment 'You only live once but if you do it right once is enough' from the Inspirational Sayings stamp set from Forever In Time and added a few enamel dots.

And of course I used my Made With Love stamp from Technique Tuesday on the back of my stamp as well.
On the flap of my envelope I stamped this cute circle with a heart from an Artemio stamp and I sealed the envelope with the coordinating washi tape from the Doodlebug Dragon Tails collection called Midieval Times.

And this finished off my card! I hope you like it.
