12x12" medical scrapbook process video #2

Hi peeps!

Exciting news! I decided to post two crafty projects such as scrapbook layouts and cards per week on my channel starting today! :)
So there are hauls on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday and crafty process videos on Wednesday and Sunday! YAY!

Today I have a new 12x12" scrapbook layout for my medical scrapbook for you to share today.

You can watch the video here on my YouTube channel PotsieFighter or you can simply watch it here on my blog.

I will have the links to the haul videos I showed the products in linked in the text and down below I will have a supply list with picture links.

For this layout I decided to use my watercolor palette and used red as my backround because there is red in the picture as well.

I didn't really know what paper to use or what to do so I chose the floral paper that I planned on using as my journaling card more or less first. Then I decided to go with that white cirle paper from my stash.
Then I felt like putting all the papers together and make kind of a Lego tower with them - LOL. I also used a floral glitter paper between the other two.

So i adhered them on my background - I treated it with gesso before using my watercolors - but I felt like it needed more. So I grabbed my clear rhinestone stickers and put them along the edge so I could hide the tiny bit of uneven paper edge that was there.

I did my journaling with my red glitter gel pen, I also used a Tim Holtz tiny word sticker and of course puffy heart stickers.
I only used one other embellishment, a pink resin heart with a rose on it.

So yeah, that is my layout for today. I hope you enjoyed it!

BREAK THE RULES MONDAY #1

Hi peeps!

I have super exciting news! I am starting a new series called 'Break the rules Monday' where I take something that was not made for scrapbooking and make a layout with it!
I will post a BTRM video every last Monday of the month, starting today! YAY!

For this months layout I chose a white kitchen sink mat!

You can watch the video here on my blog, or you can use this link to be redirected to my YouTube channel PotsieFighter.

I didn't use cardstock for this layout. I recently bought a 12x12" stencil and it came with this beautiful shiny black piece of paper and I loved how the white mat looked on it so I used this instead.
I used spray adhesive to glue the mat on the paper, at first I used UHU but i really didn't like it so I used a generic brand and it worked way better then the UHU one.

While this was drying I used a beautiful black paper with white lillies and matted my picture on there. Then I decided to bring some color in because I knew the layout was going to be very black and white. So I decided to use this beautiful pale pink paper with glitter embossed white plus signs I got from Action and ripped the bottom part off to give it a little bit of interest as well. But I wanted to tone it down a bit so I used white tissue paper between these two layers.
When I put the picture on the background I felt like it was floating which I didn't like at all so I decided to used textured grey shimmery cardstock and then while I was at it also some silver tissue paper.

To add a little bit of interest I used a mist I made myself using an empty travel sized spray bottle, water and my Daler Rowney Silver Imit acrylic paint.
You just put water and the paint in the bottle and shake it up really good and voilĂ  - you have your own mist! I actually made a few of these, if you are interested I could do a How To video, just let me know down in the comments section or on my YouTube channel!
So I sprayed my mist on the background and I also did some splatters on my picture and the paper.

I didn't really do a whole lot of embellishing since the background obviously is very busy already. I used this 'beautiful' accetate piece from an Amy Tangerine ephemera pack, a Tim Holtz tiny word sticker, some puffy stickers, a cute silver crown from my moustache sticker pack and a few silver enamel dots.

And that finishes off my layout for today!

Let me know what you think of my new series in the comments below or on my YouTube channel!

I had a really hard time finding a kitchen sink mat that looked somewhat like the one I used and I had no luck, I am sorry. However I found a few that have kind of an resemblance to mine.

Thanks for joining me today, have a great day!
