PAPERBASICS DT PROJECT #20 | Christmas cards

Hi crafty peeps!

It’s Friday that means I have another DT project for Paperbasics for you today! This time I made 2 Christmas cards for you.

You can watch the videos on my YouTube channel PotsieFighter using these links, or you can simply watch it here on my blog.

I made those two super quick and easy cards to show you how you can make cute cards with minimal supplies. Perfect for last minute cardmaking!

I used Vaessen Creative Florence Cardstock in Broccoli and Tin as my card bases and trimmed down 6x12 inches of each of the papers. I then scored them at 6 inches to create two top folding cards.

For the traditional green and red Christmas card I decided to use one of those big gold holographic ornament stickers from my stash. I matted it on red paper to make it pop and bring in some color. I die cut the Merry Christmas sentiment from the same Broccoli cardstock. TO give it more interest I cut down some of the gold holographic sticker paper and matted it under my red paper that I adhered with 3D adhesive.

On the inside of this card I went a little crazy LOL. I used the negative from the ornament sticker and die cut a tag die from the same red paper I used on the front of the card. I used a ton of Walnut Stain Distress Stickles to give it a vintage and distressed look. On the back of the card I used the Handmade stamp from Paperbasics with my Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.

For the second card I chose to use the other 'christmas color scheme' that is blue and silver, I decided to use grey instead because I felt like silver would be a bit too much and I wanted to keep it simple. But I chose blue holographic paper to give it a bit of sparkle and shine. I used this cute bow die cut from my stash and I also cut a banner from a scrap piece of holographic paper. I adhered both with 3D foam adhesive. I die cut the same Merry Christmas sentiment from tin cardstock and adhered it in the blue banner.

I kept the inside of this card empty to leave lots of room to write in. I did add some blue bakers twine from Docrafts to give it some interest instead. I only did a knot and left that on the inside of the card because I really love how that looks. I also used the Paperbasics Handmade stamp on the back of my card.

I used matching envelopes for both cards and that was it - I hope you enjoyed my quick & easy cards!
