WATERCOLOR FOOD WRAP BACKGROUND

Hi crafty peeps!

I have a tutorial video for you today showing you how you can create a super fun background using only watercolors and food wrap!

You can watch the video here on my blog, or you can use this link to be redirected to my YouTube channel PotsieFighter.

I really love this technique and I haven't done it in probably years so I thought I would give it a try again and I absolutely love it. This technique is super simple and all you need is cardstock, watercolors, a brush, food wrap and water.
I started off with masking down my cardstock because I knew I would put lots and lots of water on there so it would warp. Also, I did gesso my cardstock before.

Then I added a coat of clean water, just so the page is already wet. Then I put on my watercolors rather messy and the important thing is that you put on the food wrap while the water is still wet, but since it is a ton of water it doesn't dry as quickly.
I moved my hands around to get a messy look and made an upwards movement to get even more crinkles.
After it is completely dry I slowly and carefully peeled of the plastic wrap and now you can see what fun and coll texture that technique give you! I absolutely love it and I will definitely do this more often!

And now you can trim it down and use it for cards, for scrapbooking like I did - video coming out on Wednesday - or for any other DIY project you'd like it to use!
You can also do fun things like ombre with the watercolors, or you can use pearlescent ones - I think those would look amazing on black cardstock!

This is my video for you today - I hope you liked it!

Thanks for joining me today, have a great day!
Stay tuned!
